As Maintenance Technician you play a key role in IBA's mission to treat cancer patients.
You participate in maintenance of IBA equipment/technical tools at the IBA Uppsala Proton Therapy Center (Skandionkliniken), operate the equipment for the customer, perform troubleshooting activities, and provide support to clinical staff during patient treatment and other daily operations.
You are involved in the resolution of system problems; electrical, pneumatics, mechanical and software problems.
You ensure the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies/services. You will become a specialist in the latest cancer treatment solutions and represent IBA with your know how.
You are based at site, but open to travel for training purposes. After an introduction phase to acquired local experience, you are open to regular flying missions up to 50% of your time to support other IBA sites where your expertise may be required.
You report to the local Site Manager.
Profile
• High school or bachelor degree (preferably in technical sciences), or equivalent experience
• Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electronics/electrical/electromechanical engineering
• Basic experience in Linux /Windows system administration is a plus
• Basic experience in SW system/control systems troubleshooting
• Basic experience with network infrastructure, switches, firewalls, etc. is a plus
• Scripting (Python/Shell) is a plus; also knowledge of C/Java is a plus
• Knowledge of virtualization is welcome
• Proactive/hands-on person
• Detail oriented with analytical skills
• Eager to learn new fields, continuously updating your knowledge (electronics, SW, HW, physics, medical application etc.)
• Able to organize your work autonomously/to take initiatives
• Team player with strong customer focus
• Oral/written communication skills in English, given the international context, preferably also in Swedish
• Flexible, work is scheduled in rotating 3-shift Mon - Sat, with some planned weekends for system maintenance
