Solution Center GTO Powertrain Production is based on highly skilled people and great teamwork. We are a truly global organization; we rely on diversity and together we create a workplace that brings the best out of everyone. We are responsible for deliveries of unique and Powertrain common solutions used by GTO Powertrain Production plants and REMAN sites. We are in Sweden, France, India, US and Brazil.
We are now looking for a Mainframe Software Engineer that is interested in working with both legacy applications to help us go through our digitalization journey. You will help us to sustain current mainframe applications used in Köping site and a global solution used within different Volvo locations.
Role description
As software engineer, you apply the principles of software engineering to design, develop, maintain, test and evaluate our software. As a person you are innovative, self-driven, have a strong technical focus combined with a customer-oriented attitude. You enjoy teamwork, contribute to a positive team spirit and you like taking responsibility for the results.
Key responsibilities
Drive for new features in collaboration with product owners, scrum master, business analysts, research, design and write new software programs (e.g., business applications).
Build innovative solutions and technologies to improve quality and performance.
Oversee and maintain all software engineering activities across products/teams.
Write and test code, refining and rewriting it as necessary and communicate with any team member involved in the project.
Support end-users in runtime for local and global mainframe applications.
The Mainframe solution used is IDEAL DATACOM. We can provide you good specific training materials if you have only worked with other Mainframe development solutions.
We think you also have
A university degree in computer science or similar
Mainframe development experience
Experience from agile development, working in teams, participate on team meetings being able to perform presentations in English.
Ability to establish and maintain good relations with stakeholders and teams from different Volvo locations.
Fluent in English.
