Who are we looking for?
Well, your personality is really important. As we stated above, you need to be passionate about applied technical solutions involving valves and control systems and it is a great advantage if you have a background in the marine or adjacent industry. As you are part of a small, but dynamic and ambitious team, your social and interpersonal skillset are of great importance, as well as your curiosity, courageousness and self-motivating personality.
You must consider it a personal and professional development to build a strong sales network as well as being involved in the development of our company, and to be truly successful you must have the curiosity and will to understand fully the marine industry, our customers as well as our products and their applications.
When it comes to educational background you have at least a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. Our ideal candidate has a couple of years work experience as Design Engineer where you have learned to master tools necessary for construction in CAD (Solidworks would be great) and basic engineering calculations. Preferably you have knowledge working with components for process and marine industry such as valves, indicators and actuators. Basic understanding of automation and control processes is also required.
Excellent English, both verbally and in writing, is mandatory and if you speak other languages, it is beneficial. As you work in a global environment, you must also be able to travel, approximately 30-40 days/year.
What about the job then?
Well, "what 's in it for me?", you may think. Quite a lot actually. Your daily work consists of providing support to customers and sales team by delivering necessary datasheets, BOM, calculations and costing. As you gain more experience we expect you to grow by adding on responsibility in development of relationship with customers and partners. You will also play an important part in developing the product portfolio of LK Valves. The position will be based in Helsingborg but work involving visits to customers and partners in primarily Scandinavia but also other parts of Europe. You are also expected to work in cooperation with our factory and sales company in China.
By reading this far, you should have been able to get the essence of the position as Application Engineer at LK Valves, but we boil it down to some bullet points for you as well. These are parts of, but not all, of your responsibilities:
- Technical documentation including calculations for quotes e.g. assembly drawings, wiring diagram and schematics primarily for use in support of our customers
- Develop special product solutions including production documents, BOM and costing for customers and required production documentation.
- Factual input to technical documentation in quotes and non-conformity reports
- Drawings and technical documentation for product information database (PIM) to be used in product catalogue.
- Be part of a pool of team members giving Technical support and training to the rest of the organisation
As stated earlier, the position is located in the head office in Helsingborg and reports to the Global Product Manager (his name is Johan, an enthusiastic guy with great experience he wants to share. He will both support and challenge you in this position).
