We are looking for a Live Tank Breakers Applications R&D Principal Engineer to join our team in Ludvika, Sweden. You will be part of Technical Lead Center for Live Tank Breakers (LTB) - a department of 30 colleagues reporting to the Applications and Calculations Team Manager. The team is formed by highly skilled R&D experts who closely collaborate every day enhance and secure the present and future of the Live Tank Breaker products. The team is very much focused on the performance of our products and this means a good collaboration with all stakeholders, including clients, and to have remarkable communication skills.
Your responsibilities
Act as technical expert for our LTB products and their applications, supporting the entire LTB organization
Perform Power System studies and other electrical simulations (e.g. dielectrics, arc-simulations...)
Work will include lead of LTB type testing campaigns
Guide, the R&D projects you will be part of, on field and standard requirement stresses, and actively participate on finding suitable technical solutions
Manage smaller R&D and Testing projects
Supervise and actively revise standards
Conduct training and seminars, both internally and externally
Actively participate on departments continuous development
Your background
Well experienced, a Principle or a Senior Engineer, within switchgear development, preferably if within Hitachi Energy products
Electrical and/or Power System academic background
Experience on R&D projects
You are accurate, customer focused and able to think strategically
You have market and competitor awareness on LTB products and related digital sub-products
Good communication and collaboration skills, and ability to analyze and propose the right solutions
Proficiency in English is a must, whereas additional languages are considered a plus
