We are recruiting a Legal Counsel to the GTO Legal and Compliance Department in Gothenburg. The Legal Counsel will provide services for the full range of GTO business area, and work in close cooperation with the respective GTO function.
He/she will report to the SVP Legal & Compliance, Group Trucks Operations. The work will require travelling from time to time.

Main Activities and Responsibilities
• Provide professional legal advice within areas such as purchasing of transportation services, export control and customs, trade agreements and trade barriers analysing, compliance relating to competition, anti-corruption, health & safety, work environment and environment, joint ventures-related contracts such as sale and purchase of components and trucks assembly agreements.
• Draft and review contractual documentation and participate in contractual negotiations.
• Enhance awareness of legal and commercial risks and work proactively with legal and compliance issues.
• Prepare and update template agreements and provide relevant legal training to business colleagues within GTO.
• Cooperate with legal counsel colleagues around the world including procurement of external legal resources.
• Dispute management.

Critical Competencies
• Master of Law
• Five to seven years of relevant work experience
• A drive to learn, develop and contribute to the success of the Volvo Group and of the legal team.
• Distinctive problem-solving abilities and a commercial interest.
• Curious, accountable and proactive with a "can do" mindset
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent knowledge in English.
• Ability to work cross jurisdictions
• Project leader experience is an advantage
