The SMT Legal department consists of three sub-functions: Legal Support, Compliance and Export Control. Within Legal Support, our task is to provide legal advice when and as needed to help ensure proportionate legal risk exposure throughout all of SMT's business operations. We are currently looking to strengthen our team in Sandviken with an analytical, service minded and business-driven Legal Counsel. Job Summary
As a Legal Counsel, you have an important role in providing legal advice to the entire SMT organization across multiple functions and jurisdictions. Your main focus area is the contracting process, where you draft and review contract documentation and assist in contract negotiations. You work in especially close collaboration with the Sales, Purchasing, R&D and Intellectual Property functions, but you also handle legal matters throughout the entire business area. On occasion, you provide advice to managers and other internal stakeholders on how to handle legal disputes. Additionally, you ensure alignment with the overall Sandvik guidelines and policies regarding legal matters, while at the same time engaging in developing our processes and way of working.
Some international travel may be required.
We are looking for someone with a relevant law degree and at least two years' experience of legal work. Previously managing contracts as a Legal Counsel or at a law firm is an advantage, and we value your interest in intellectual property law and mergers and acquisitions. You are also a skilled user of Microsoft Office. As we operate in a global environment, you must have excellent communication skills in English and Swedish, both in speaking and writing.
