The lnstitute of Health and Care Sciences is a national and international leader in person-centred care, which permeates our education, research, and innovation. The department is organized by sections in the form of academic environments which consist of interdisciplinary profile areas: Care for long-term conditions; Life contexts and health-promoting care; Diagnosis and care in acute and critical conditions and Learning and leadership for health professions. The department's administrative staff is organized in an administrative unit.
In the academic environments, the combined competence is integrated in order to promote quality in both education, research and collaboration.
The department conducts professional training for nurses, radiology nurses, midwives and specialist nurses. The undergraduate educations for nurse and radiology nurse lead to both a professional degree and a bachelor's degree. The midwifery programme and the specialist nursing programme with different specializations lead to vocational degrees in combination with master's degrees. In addition, commissioned training and single subject courses are given on advanced level, which provides the opportunity for studies leading to a master's degree in one of the department's main areas, nursing, radiography and care pedagogy. The department also conducts education at the doctoral level in health sciences.

Subject area description
In the discipline of nursing, knowledge is developed about health, quality of life despite illness or disability and about a peaceful and dignified death. Nursing is based on needs and problems related to health, ill health and to daily life, but also to people's resources and ability to cope. In nursing, it is not only ill health / illness / disability per se that matters, but people's reactions and interpretation of their illness are also in focus. In nursing, a close relationship between nurse, patient and relatives is key.
Duties
The employment is placed mainly within the section for Life context and health-promoting care. The teaching will include undergraduate courses for for nurses and the specialist education for nurses directed towards psychiatry. lf necessary, tasks will take place in collaboration with other sections at the department.
The responsibilities include planning and teaching, coordinating resources, working for continuity in the courses, keeping up to date on current research in the field and being the responsible tutor for the course. The assignment includes developing and coordinating learning objectives, learning activities, examination methods and assessment criteria in relation to content, purpose and current pedagogical research, as well as quality assurance of the education with validated forms of evaluation. Furthermore, the employment includes supervising students in connection with clinical education, supervising and examining essays at the undergraduate level, supervising essays at graduate level and managed essays at the advanced level, primarily in psychiatry. Administrative tasks related to the educational activities is a significant part of the responsibility. It also includes actively working for development of the subject. Other tasks may also occur, and the content of the employment may change over time.
The employment includes actively working to achieve the department's objectives and business plan, which includes contributing to the development of the academic environment within the section. In addition, all employees are expected to participate in the planned joint meetings and activities organized at the department.
The applicant is expected to teach in both Swedish and English.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for employing teaching staff are set out in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and in the Appointment Procedure for Teaching Posts at the University of Gothenburg.
A completed university degree on advanced level or higher in nursing or care pedagogy, demonstrated pedagogical skills, and a specialist nursing degree in psychiatric nursing. Swedish nursing license.
Fluent in Swedish and English in both speaking and writing.
