The Faculty offers doctoral education in the field of Library and Information Science, and is working to establish doctoral education programmes in in Educational Work and Business and IT.
At the Faculty, educational programmes are offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and here, among other things, librarians, preschool teachers, primary and subject teachers, system architects and web editors are trained.

Job description
As a Lecturer at the Department of Information Technology, you will carry out teaching mainly in the form of lectures, supervision, seminars, and examinations in informatics programmes with a main focus on software development. Your duties will also include participation in pedagogical development, course development, creation of course materials and some other administrative tasks. The teaching includes courses at Bachelor's level in the programmes in Business Informatics, Systems Science, and Computer and Systems Science, including supervision of theses at the Bachelor's level in Informatics. In terms of course content, the teaching focuses on software development using different types of programming languages and frameworks. The focus will also be on practical system integration with configuration and programming of different application interfaces within a larger distributed system. Examples of programming languages covered are C# and Python, where development takes place for desktop platforms as well as mobile and web applications. Teaching at the Bachelor's is in Swedish and English, while teaching at the Master's level is mainly in English.
Qualifications
The position requires proven teaching skills as a Lecturer and a Master's degree or equivalent scientific competence in informatics or another subject relevant to the focus of the position (e.g. computer science). The work duties require that you have experience in software development and in teaching in software and systems development. The applicant has documented knowledge of the C# programming language, in the .Net framework, in database management and in application development for mobile and web applications. Furthermore, you have good and documented knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
Merits for the position are:
• documented relevant professional experience in software and systems development.
• documented responsibility for course development work in Bachelor's level education.
• documented experience of working with the private and/or public sector.
• documented knowledge of AI and machine learning.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and the ability to collaborate within teaching teams.
For a permanent position at the university, you must have completed training in higher education pedagogy equivalent to 10 weeks of full-time studies or have equivalent knowledge.
