The department, In Car Digital, is part of the Vehicle Software & Electronics unit within Connected Infotainment. We are responsible for electrical systems and components in the areas of Driver Interaction (Instrument Cluster, Entertainment Displays, Switches, and Climate Control), HMI and Infotainment (Audio, Antenna and Tuners, Navigation, Telephony, Bluetooth, and Connectivity). We work in an agile framework, SAFe, and in this framework we have defined an agile release train called "Connectivity". The Connectivity ART enables connection from the Vehicle to anything (V2X) and works with the "Volvo On Call" platform including remote control services and apps connected to this. We also secure internet connection and provide digital app content including workshop booking.

We are now looking for a Lead Engineer Telematics with project management expertise, which is a key role and will be a part of an internal development team to secure the needed deliveries to the vehicle projects.

What you'll do
You will work with the latest technology in the telematics and connectivity area in which technologies evolve continually in order to meet customers' future requirements. The work is carried out in a close cooperation with the supplier which means a daily interaction with international contacts. The internal development team consists of engineers with both HW- and SW-expertise, with a great deal of knowledge and experience in the area of telematics.
Your main responsibilities as a Lead Engineer Telematics will be to lead the team meetings with the supplier as well as leading, plan and monitor the team's deliveries according to the anchored plan and agreed backlog. You will be responsible to summarize and present the deliveries to the Product Owner and other stakeholders within Volvo Cars. You will also drive the supplier to deliver according to commonly set goals.

Do you fit the profile?
In order to be successful in this position, you will need a great deal of personal driving force and determination. We expect you to have a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Automation or equivalent, as well as a passion for quality and cars. You have documented experience from assignment leadership and some experience from SW development. Leadership experience from automotive and/or electronics engineering will be an advantage. You should have an ability to independently plan, manage and monitor your and the team's work towards a global goal. Strong communication skills (especially in English), both verbally and in writing, is key. A valid driver's license (B) is also beneficial.
On a personal level, we are looking for a team player that has a positive attitude and that is reliable. The role requires you to be self-driven and able to cooperate with both the external supplier and the internal teams in the best possible way. Securing a broad cross-functional network within the organization is crucial to be successful in the role. You should also have a strong interest in an agile way of working.
We believe that you are a structured and accurate person that is used to summarize and present the status of your work. Strong analytical and problem solving skills is essential, as well as a high costumer focus. We also believe that you are an open-minded individual that is curious and eager to get new knowledge. You should also have a high interest and drive for results in a structured way.
