We are looking for a talented data scientist and a strong team member who loves coding, analysis and business. You will be part of a small interdisciplinary team working with new business opportunities, where you will be responsible for developing ideas and logic for data-based applications: As a data scientist, you will use your programming and problem solving skills to analyse data, optimize current offerings and find new business opportunities.
In addition, you will play an important role in developing the technology, frameworks and methods to be used for data analysis. You will work closely with both business-oriented and technical employees, and your solutions and ideas could have significant impact on Fortum Värme's future offerings.
Arbetsuppgifter
Identify potential business opportunities and design approaches to capture those opportunities
Independently perform experimental and objective-driven data analysis on large sets of data to extract actionable insights
Dive into small and large datasets and provide an analytics perspective to discussions and help to drive the priorities within your team
Work with developers to implement your findings
Use technology to improve way of working by building and prototyping new algorithms etc.

Utbildning/erfarenhet
University degree in science, computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics or similar
Excellent analytical and statistical skills: you are really good at analyzing, modeling, visualizing and making conclusions from large amounts of data
Passion, curiosity and creativity: you love to follow the latest trends in the ecosystem of big data analytics and usually play around with new technology and methods when they arrive
Entrepreneurship: you are self-going and have a strong drive. Operational experience from a tech start-up is a strong merit.
You are a communicative person that thrive working in teams and are able to communicate in a simple manner
High ambitions and always beating expectations
Fluent in English and/or Swedish in both speech and writing
Preferable
You have at least 3 years of experience in a data analyst role
You have experience working in the energy/utilities industry and/or with thermodynamics
Experience performing analysis with large data sets
Experience working with statistical software tools and/or mathematical programming, you know coding and are used to dribble around with datasets and applying various kinds of statistical functions and algorithms
