A05 Diagnostics is a Swedish company that provides an infrastructure for COVID-19 diagnostics.
The mission of A05 Diagnostics is to provide diagnostic capacity needed in Sweden during the ongoing pandemic by providing accurate analytical tools to allow screening for COVID-19 infections. The objective is to allow increased analytical capacity in Sweden for testing with rapid turn-around times for the different regions of the health care system.
We cover the whole chain from preparing the sampling kits, receiving patient samples, inactivation of samples, RT-PCR amplification and reporting test results.
A05 Diagnostics has an agreement with the Public Health Agency of Sweden (sw. Folkhälsomyndigheten) regarding PCR-analysis of COVID-19. We receive samples from the Swedish regions daily and we report the test results within 24 hours, which means that the work pace is sometimes high. In accordance with our assignment during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, changes in workflow and pace are part of the daily operations. The laboratory analyses are run in two shifts between 7 am and midnight, Monday to Saturday.
A05 Diagnostics has about 80 employees who work in our sampling kit preparation team and our laboratory analysis team. It is a dynamic environment with employees from different disciplines and career levels.
We are continuously hiring new team members, and are currently seeking employees to our laboratory analysis team for start immediately.
Work duties and qualifications
Inactivation laboratory
The work tasks consist of unpacking patient samples in safety hoods, manually inspect the closed sampling tubes, register barcodes and place the tubes in racks for heat inactivation.
The work is performed in a BSL-2 classified laboratory and extra protective equipment in addition to normal BSL2 is required. The work also includes careful documentation.

Experience of working in BSL2
Experience from laboratory work
Meritorious experience
Extensive documented experience and habit of similar tasks including human materials / clinical studies
Experience in handling infectious specimens
Personal characteristics
Accuracy, responsibility, safety awareness regarding infectious samples, experience of high work pace and ability to handle larger quantities of sample material. Ability to keep focus and accuracy during at times monotonous tasks. Knowledge of quality assurance is an advantage.
Robotic laboratory
The work consists of preparing the inactivated samples for RT-PCR amplification. This includes manual handling of large numbers of samples, and aliquoting of the samples using a pipetting robot. The samples are aliquoted into plates for analysis and for backup, which also includes the necessary controls and careful monitoring of samples and documentation. Tasks also include mixing reagents needed for the RT-PCR reaction, running the robotic system for PCR-mastermix addition and thereafter registering each plate into the LIMS system prior analysis.
