ÄNGSBACKA IS LOOKING FOR OUR NEXT KITCHEN MANAGER
Welcome to the kitchen!
The Kitchen is at the very heart of Ängsbacka. A meal served at our table clearly communicates our high ambition and focus on sustainability, taste, nutrition and beauty in equal measures. Our kitchen prepares three vegetarian meals per day, all year round. Some ingredients, primarily herbs and greens, are grown in our own garden and we are aiming to increase our produce annually. We choose local and organic ingredients when we can, and we always add an abundance of love and creativity in the mix. Our highly appreciated Café is offering a range of home-made baked goods and raw cakes. In addition our kitchen is currently running a food waste saving project in collaboration with local supermarkets.
The kitchen offers volunteers experiences in creative, fun and sometimes high paced roles. As Kitchen manager you are holding the overall responsibility for the kitchen as a whole, including all kitchen related documentation, human resource management, planning & evaluation, hygiene & safety as well as the budget. You report directly to the management team.

Kitchen manager tasks include:
Planning, execution, evaluation and implementation of all aspects of managing a kitchen to ensure smooth daily running and output of meals.
Capacity to maintain and update Hygiene and safety standards and routines that support this. Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable Food and health federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records.
Holding the Kitchen's budget year round, being responsible for orders and stocks. Ensuring we maximise the usage of our budget and make smart decisions re budget.

Kitchen manager skills and abilities:
Leadership and delegation: Able to motivate & support a team including paid staff as well as volunteers.
Stress Management: Things can feel a little crazy sometimes, have tools to keep calm and grounded
Clear and concise communicator: leaves the vagueness at the door.
Empathetic: Able to see multiple perspectives and experiences
Creative and organised: Methodical and not afraid of structure. Able to establish and follow systems.
Experience and skill in English, spoken and written (Swedish is a preference, English is a must)

Education and/or Experience:
Ideally you have years of experience in a professional kitchen. You know the ins and outs of what is needed and how to uphold general regulations regarding safety and hygiene. You are confident to cook for up to 50 people, in case there is a need for it. You have experience of managing a budget.
