Role description
The role of a Junior Solutions Developer at Mediasmiths is to take descriptions of business processes and needs and turning them into well-implemented solutions using agile and customer centric methods.
After only a few weeks as a solution developer in Mediasmiths, you are likely to find yourself developing the user interface components, connectors and general glue code necessary to make systems within a major media company communicate in new and more effective ways.
In their first year working for the company you can expect to be working within project teams to develop, document, test and support the implementation of a number of significant business critical software projects, both large and small.
As your experience grows, you will also be expected to advise the client on suitable technologies, improved working practices and development processes. Guiding clients on technologies will involve giving them independent and objective advice on what solutions and frameworks best suit their needs.
Technical and software delivery skills
You must be able to show experience of developing solutions using at least some of the following key technologies and approaches:
• Software design, development and debugging using Java, JavaScript, or ActionScript
• JSON or XML
• RESTful web service principles
• Scripting languages ? from shell scripting through to Python, Ruby or Groovy
• Application defect detection, diagnosis and resolution
• Unit and system testing, preferably using automated tooling, such as JUnit, Jenkins and Maven
• Experience in a media technology environments is highly desirable, but not critical

Place of Work
The position is based in Stockholm; however, most of the work will be client facing and as such will be conducted on client sites throughout Sweden and abroad.
