Our Basic Materials Institute is recognized both internally and externally as a centre of excellence for the advice in the fields of paper, forestry products, steel, non-ferrous metals and mining.
The role of Analysts within the Basic Materials Institute is to assist our consulting teams on engagements, providing expert client service in strategic and operational topics and contributing to the development of Basic Materials Institute?s knowledge initiatives.
Role Description
• This specific job opening is for a role dedicated to our Paper & Forestry Products Service Line.
In more general terms, the further expectations for these roles are as follows
• Demonstrate expert client service in a Basic Materials domain. For example, run operational excellence diagnostics to determine potential opportunities for transformation
• Participate in the Firm?s knowledge building efforts by creating knowledge packs around best practices in metals or mining. For example, develop new tool kits for diagnostics or model future demand and supply for a commodity
• Dissemination of knowledge internally and to clients
• Support Consulting teams and Clients , as required, to conduct analyses off-site and on-site
• Develop and maintain market models, cost curves, CAPEX models and benchmark databases
Qualifications & Skills required
• Applicants should posses a minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in Chemical Engineering, Forestry or a related discipline. A Master?s degree is preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Multiple languages are preferred.
• Superior problem solving, and analytical skills
• Significant understanding of the industry dynamics of the forestry, paper or packaging sectors
• Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team Environment
• Exhibit self-motivation and highly service-orientated work ethic
Previous Experience
• Work experience with a strategy consultancy or with the strategy department of a relevant industry player is especially desirable.
• A record of accomplishment within that work experience
