Come work at the cutting edge of technology and join Epiroc's patent team. We are a small, dedicated team addressing the future under guidance of the Epiroc vision, Dare to Think New. When joining us, you will contribute to the protection of future business by creating high quality patents together with our engineers. You grow into the role through professional development within our patent department. Training will be offered and adapted to your needs.
Your mission
You will work as a Patent Engineer within the Epiroc Patent Department, mentored by colleagues having long experience from the roles. You will primarily be focusing on toward patent creation: mining out new inventions, performing patentability assessments, drafting and prosecution of patent applications, and overseeing work of outside counsel in multiple jurisdictions.
In your role, you will combine on-the-job training with courses directed to developing your competence in the patent field. You will support invention processing and learn to draft and prosecute patent applications, primarily within our focus areas. You will also participate in the ideation work, identifying new inventions aligned with our roadmaps and advancing these inventions to form part of our future patent portfolio.
Location and travel
This position is preferably located in Örebro, Sweden.

Your profile
You have a MSc in Engineering and preferably a couple of years of experience. Earlier experiences of working with intellectual property and patents are beneficial but is not a requirement. You may have enjoyed a course on intellectual property rights while getting your engineering degree or have developed an interest for legal protection of new technical solutions at a later stage in your career. Curiosity, an eye for details, and writing skills are key components for enjoying this role. English and Swedish, both verbal and written, is a requirement.
The position requires a person with an interest to interact with our R&D teams. On site presence is required. In your role, you will be expected to reach out, communicate and promote IPR awareness, as well as to perform highly focused, analytical work within sharp deadlines. You will develop your skills as a patent engineer/patent attorney with the aim to be a qualified European Patent Attorney within approximately 5 years from employment.
