We are searching for a Junior Scientific Expert for our client, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Solna.

You will get an employment as a consultant with Manpower. The assignment is to immediately and until last of December 2016 with possible extension. The role is for full-time.

The interim shall be requested to perform various tasks including:

Contribute to the coordination of applied public health preparedness projects being organised by ECDC.
Assist ECDC senior staff in the area of public health preparedness.
Support the Country Preparedness Support (CPS) section with procurement of services.
Support the core functions of CPS in the area of evidence building and capacity development.
Assist in the evaluation of country state of preparedness.
Assist with the management of the EU preparedness network.
Assist, on an ad hoc basis, to CPS contribution to requests in the field of public health preparedness from European Commission, WHO, and EU Member States.

Competences and experience

Strong scientific or social scientific background (university degree in biology, medicine, veterinary medicine, social sciences, epidemiology, or other related fields).
Knowledge of the field of public health preparedness.
Knowledge/ experience in procurement procedures.
Good administrative and project management skills.
Scientific writing skills.
Presentation skills.
Ability to work in multi-cultural environment.
