Main responsibilities
• Participate in continuous process improvement activities
• Designing and implementing Java-based applications
• Create designs that are modular, scalable, robust and meet customer requirements
• Perform unit testing and on target testing to ensure the software meets the high-quality standards our customers expect
• Debugging and resolving technical problems that arise
• Producing detailed design documentation
• Ensuring continuous professional self-development
• Use Agile methodology to develop the software
• Contribute to all stages of software development lifecycle
• Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging
• Manage Java and Java EE application development
• Transforming requirements into stipulations
• Prepare and produce releases of software components
• Support continuous improvement, investigating alternatives and technologies, and presenting for architectural review
Qualifications
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• You have prior experience in Java development, with a good understanding of its ecosystems
• Strong knowledge of Java Application Frameworks (Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Springboot)
• Hands-on experience working in an Agile environment
• You have at least 3 years of experience in object-oriented software development with Java and JEE
• You have solid know-how in modern web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST, XML, JSON)
• Your database skills are good (e.g. modeling, SQL)
• You have deep knowledge of established frameworks and platforms (e.g. SAP Commerce is a benefit)
• Experience in working with popular web application frameworks like Play and Spark is a plus
• Basic knowledge of JVM (Java Virtual Machine), its drawbacks, weaknesses, and workarounds
• You enjoy software development and you are always interested in new developments (e.g. Java, Web, Mobile & Open Source)
• Basic Understanding of the concepts of MVC (Model-View-Controller) Pattern, JDBC (Java Database Connectivity), and RESTful web services
• In-depth knowledge of code versioning tools, for instance, Git
• Understanding of building tools like Ant, Maven, Gradle, etc
• Ability to write clean, readable Java code
• Your English skills are excellent, Swedish is a plus
• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
Experience and knowledge in the following areas are beneficial
• JavaServer pages (JSP) and servlets
• Service-oriented architecture
• Web Technologies like HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery
• Markup Languages such as XML, JSON
• Multithreading and Synchronization
