Rebtel is looking for a .Java Automation Test Engineer with BI and DBA skills

The Job
We are looking for an experienced backend test engineer with knowledge of database administration and BI development. We are searching for someone who has this unique mix of skills and that wishes to spend 50% of his/her time with Java automation test code, and another 50% as SQL Server DBA and BI developer.
From DBA perspective, we expect this person to work under the supervision of our main DBA master, with the opportunity to evolve and improve his/her skills around this area. From a BI perspective the challenges would be around build SSRS, SSIS and DTSX packages and exploring PowerBI. From testing perspective, we are looking for someone who has good Java coding skills with experience testing REST APIs and WCF services, and knowledge of tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus or Cucumber.
Expected tasks and deliverables:
• Develop Java code around the existing architecture/framework, delivering robust automation testing for our REST API and WCF services
• Develop Java based testing procedures to run from a cloud based environment, and develop and evolve internal testing procedures including load testing
• Contribute to our innovation path, by taking the journey of moving our backend system into a fully cloud-based solution, leveraging different Windows Azure components
• Maintain the database Servers, review the database setups and configurations and where possible find and propose areas for improvements
• Support other developers with database models and design and query optimizations
• Identify the cause of problems, document, and develop solutions.
• Design and develop automated, complex, and efficient ETL processes.
• Develop processes to match and clean datasets, problem solve, and optimize performance
Previous experience:
• Strong Java development experience for automation testing, with knowledge of some of these tools: Jenkins, Cucumber, TeamCity, Octopus
• Strong experience with MS SQL Server administration and database design
• Strong experience with T-SQL and advanced coding concepts, and usage of tools such as Profiler, Management Studio, SQL Server Data Tools
• Strong experience with ETL, SSIS, SSRS
Bonus skills:
• Experience with Azure-based development and testing
• Understanding of HDFS, Hadoop architecture and Map Reduce concepts
• Knowledge of HA (High Availability) and load balancing solutions
Education and work experience:
• University degree with minimum 5 years experience in IT
• Fluent in English
