Publiceringsdatum2008-05-05ArbetsuppgifterWe are soon to launch a pioneering socially connected next generation address book application. The main aspects of the role will therefore include: involvement in architecture and design discussions, developing new features for the pplication, optimising the application, porting the application to as many handsets as possible.
The development environment comprises Subversion for source control, Eclipse and a continuous build framework using CruiseControl. We have an agile approach to development and use the Scrum methodology to good effect. The position will involve working closely with all members of the 9 strong development team (front-end, back-end, client development) as well as with testers and project managers.
The role will be based in either Copenhagen or Cambridge, UK and will require travel between these two locations (e.g. short periods once per month).
The company?s working language is English.
ErfarenhetEssential skills for the role:
• 5+ years developing J2ME applications
• 2+ years developing connected applications
• an object oriented approach to developing mobile applications
• strong architecture design skills and use of design patterns
• ability to produce technical specifications (lightweight in line with agile approach)
• good application testing discipline through use of unit tests or test driven development.
These skills are not essential for the role but would be beneficial:
• experience using the J2ME Polish framework
• experience developing applications that make use of JSR-75 to access the PIM
• experience developing location based services
• experience porting applications to a wide range of handsets
• knowledge of the various application signing processes
• development experience on other platforms such as Symbian, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, iPhone.
