Group IT is a new organization, with an end-to-end responsibility for all development, delivery, and support of IT solution for the Volvo Group. We work closely together with the P&IT functions in the Truck Divisions and Business Areas to make sure that business needs are met in the best way.
Solution Unit DVP
Solution Unit Develop Product & Aftermarket Product Portfolio (DVP) is a global unit within Group IT. The mission of the unit is to ensure that the Volvo Group 's IT solutions and IT projects within the area of DVP are managed in an optimal way.
We are now looking for a Senior IT Architect - Solution Center CAD, VPDM and VM
In this senior IT Architect (ITA) position, you will be reporting to the primary Sub-portfolio Delivery Manager within the VM PLM core.
Role mission & context
We are about to start a journey, shaping Volvo's new way of working within the virtual product development (VPDM) area. We are facing a challenging and exciting period as we are about to enhance the functionality in Windchill, utilizing more of the available out of the box features.
The PDMLink instance serves all downstream systems with the virtual product for analyses or usage in other purposes such as Virtual Manufacturing capabilities.
PDMLink has up to 6000 users in Volvo Group with users globally in 25 sites. We have IT representation in Japan, Bangalore, Lyon, Göteborg and Greensboro.
You will keep the work together from an architectural point of view. The main purpose of this role is to be part of the DVP Architect network as well as contribute in projects and maintenance, to drive and secure that we follow and develop our IT-delivery in a sustainable and most efficient way towards agreed strategy and targets.
Key responsibilities
• Responsibilities as the IT Architect for VPDM and VM?Responsible for securing overall architectural compliance in line with delegated responsibilities within the SC in DVP SU
• Authority to take decisions in accordance with Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework and Group IT architecture framework
• Responsible for architecture decisions within VPDM and VM
• Communicate EA decisions, changes and information within VPDM and VM
• Represent VPDM and VM in applicable EA related workgroups
• Resolve architectural issues e.g. escalated from projects & solutions.
• Secure excellent IT architectural competence through the IT-Architect (ITA) network for the concerned solutions and project
• Drive implementation of solution roadmaps in line with the target architecture for the solution
• Drive the work needed for integrations with other systems together with their representatives
• Interface with the DVP ITA and the Solution Center architects in projects and maintenance
• Support the Solution Leader and Delivery Leader with identifying and performing cost reduction and optimization activities
• Support in DevOps implementation

In this position, you will create an efficient way of working with IT Architects, Developers, and other relevant roles in solution center and interfacing activities and organizations..
Since you are part of a global unit, with global responsibilities, you will in a senior position need to actively cooperate with various stakeholders and navigate with ease in a multi-cultural environment.
You need to be able to manage on a day to day basis in a good self-supportive way.
Required competencies
• This is a position that requires extensive experience of assignments in software architecture, information and integration architecture
• Have a strong business focus and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of the business
• Experience in PTC/Windchill
• Experience of integration solutions
• JAVA/Linux/Windows/(Oracle)/MQ
• Working as software architect is a merit
• Work life experience min 5 years
• Experience within Volvo product development is a merit
• Good communication & presentation skills
• Have proven capacity to execute against set targets
• Good collaboration and networking skills
• Ability to drive change
• A university degree in engineering, computer science or similar
• Ability to design and maintain architecture views, models and target architectures according to defined standards and tools
