Job Mission
IS/IT architecturwill be translating business vision and strategy into effective enterprise change, to deliver sustainable and maintainable Information Systems following the guidance of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework
The IS/IT Architect focuses on delivering business benefit in terms of decisions and strategies in IT, that gives the business the most value for the resources invested.
IS/IT Architect creates, describes and communicates the Information System target and then participates to its implementation.
To operate, IS/IT Architect needs to understand and interpret requirements, gather information, influence people, facilitate consensus building, synthesize and translate ideas and requirements into actionable roadmaps.
The job occurs at Professional Development Steps B, C, D, E and F.
Responsibilities at Professional Development Step B
• Manage the technical quality aspects of an IT solution
• Deliver an architecture in accordance to the EA framework that :
a) follow target architecture
b) meet architectural principles
c) comply with strategies and policies
d) support process & solution roadmaps
• Ensure that the designed solution supports business policies, strategy and stakeholders concerns
• Suggest alternative solutions and point out deficiencies related to quality requirements
• Identify influencing factors for the solution (e.g. communication mechanisms, process lifecycles, concurrency requirements, security
Additional Responsibilities at Professional Development Step C
• Ensure a solid architecture even in heterogeneous IT Solution
• Participate in reviews of architecture concepts and solutions, for example on behalf of the project office
• Present solutions to stakeholders Coach Architects at Step B
• Take the role as Lead Architect of projects
Additional Responsibilities at Professional Development Step D
• Design and maintain architecture views, models and target architectures.
• Support reduction of complexity in business processes, information, applications, integration and infrastructure
• Be a part of critical and/or strategic projects as well as prioritized projects and be prepared to be considered for these projects
• Lead competence networks and communities both locally and globally
Additional Responsibilities at Professional Development Step E
• Deliver IS/IT Architecture support, e.g. in portfolio planning phases and to appointed change initiatives
• Investigate in industry models, perform benchmarking and ensure awareness of EA trends
• Have the ability to take the responsibilities of the Head IT Architect within a global unit
• Have an understanding from the beginning to the end on at least one of the following areas: business process, solution and infrastructure
• Design and maintain principles for IT Architectural workflows & models within supply and towards governance and demand
Additional Responsibilities at Professional Development Step F
• Drive knowledge sharing of business strategies, processes, relevant market- and IT trends and other relevant changes of policies, guidelines or EA framework in the Architect community
• Act as highest escalation level for software, solutions or infrastructure architecture issues
• Develop Architecture KPI's
• Design and maintain principles for IT Architectural workflows & models within supply and towards governance and demand
