Essity is building up a strategic focus on Internet of Things both through some innovative SaaS solutions as well Industry 4.0 initiatives in our manufacturing organization. We are now looking for the right candidate to join our team to improve our IoT deliveries through Architectural Designs, High-level Technical Direction, Technical Thought-Leadership.
Are you intrigued by the advances in IoT, Analytics and Big Data? Are you excited by the opportunity to influence the technological backbone of a new discipline? If so we're looking for a Solution Architect to drive harmonization, simplification and adapt to best practices to have fully integrated solutions in a heterogeneous IT landscape as well as sharing these within the organization. We're looking for a passionate inquisitive candidate with a curiosity to continuously push the technical boundaries.
As a Solution Architect, you are equally able to communicate with developers or tech leads to give direction and business stakeholders on why technical decisions are made. You can also build business cases to ensure accurate, optimal and valuable architecture recommendations are made. This includes understanding the architecture impacts and consequences of different license models as well as the underlying business value and needs that drive the technology.
You have the overall technical responsibility for the solutions you are driving and know how to balance speed and quality in delivery.
You are used to working with both internal and external partners and suppliers from multiple countries and cultures.
The position can be based in Gothenburg, Barcelona or Ismaning.
Main Tasks
Proactively advise stakeholders on technical advances to drive excellence in the solutions
Take a leading role in IoT projects or other initiatives to ensure all requirements, including functional, integration, security, performance, quality, and operations are covered
Responsible to ensure that the architecture requirements for the development, execution, and operations are implemented as designed
Cooperate with other architects to ensure that the solutions and components work together to meet the objectives and work jointly to ensure collaboration between initiatives
Lead the IT Architecture analysis, design, and implementation, and ensure that policies and standards are followed in respective area
Validate requirements and obtain stakeholder buy-in for architecture designs
Create business cases, narratives and assess architecture impacts for new / changed solutions and present to a broad stake holder group from Business and IT
Identify and communicate any cross-area or cross-release issues that affect other project areas
Support development of architecture reference architecture, including standards and in management of exemptions
Actively seek out new technologies and trends and advocate for change within Essity
Key Competencies
University degree in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent
More than 5 years of software engineering on modern platforms and tech stacks
Experience working with cloud based solutions (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Genuine interest in emerging technology such as IoT and Industry 4.0
Ability to take a holistic view on how hardware, protocols, platforms, data and applications interact
Knowledge in user experience modeling, information design, and concept generation
Customer and consumer oriented
Fluent in English, both written and oral
Ability to travel
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to combine strategic thinking, have strong communication skills a broad understanding of each of the IT disciplines as well as a strong commercial understanding of where potential value opportunities exist through effective IT architecture.
