Job description
In your role as a IT systems administrator you will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and improving our Linux and Windows workstations, shared servers, and network infrastructure. This means supporting and follow up on IT issues and proposing new approaches and services that would improve the daily work of your new colleagues. The responsibilities also include procurement of equipment, software, and external services.
Most of the services are standard services such as web and IMAP servers, LDAP, Active Directory, NFS etc. and some of the services provided by the IT infrastructure are related to the technical work performed by the hardware and software design teams. Such services could for example be EDA tools, automated testing services built around Jenkins/Docker and specific toolchains at our build servers.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with hands-on experience within Unix/Linux, Windows servers, and workstation management. We require good verbal communication skills in English, a strong general interest in new IT technologies and a solution oriented mindset. Key assets:
Installation, upgrades, and monitoring: Proficiently handle Linux and Windows servers and workstations, ensuring seamless operation.
Networking expertise: Navigate the intricacies of networking with hands-on experience.
Security advocacy: Recognize the critical role of security solutions in safeguarding our systems.
Backup strategies: Understand the nuances between incremental backups and mirroring.
Proactive problem solver: Take initiative and tackle challenges head-on.
Collaborative mindset: A helpful attitude.
