The Vice Principal (VP) assists the principal in the management and overall quality of the school-wide international philosophy. The VP works with the principal to supervise day-to-day program operations and long-term operations related to the school mission and strategic plan.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruction and Assessment
Working collaboratively with teachers, principal, and management team to facilitate development and improvement in instruction and assessment for the international school
Working in cooperation with the principal to plan, write, implement and evaluate school policies
Working collaboratively with teachers to enhance the processes of assessment and monitoring of student information to improve instruction
Observing teachers and providing feedback on teaching and learning using best teaching practices
Assisting the principal with the recruitment of teachers and substitute teachers
Staff Development and Professional Learning
Providing appropriate and on-going professional development for teachers and staff
Helping to lead pedagogic based faculty meetings
Supervising and appraising teachers as directed by the principal
Communication
Enhancing school website to reflect accurate and important information about Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm for current and prospective students
Producing newsletters and blogs to inform parents, teachers, students and management on current or upcoming events including; IPC or IMYC Units, Fritids announcements, after-school activities, PTA events, Music/Drama/Dance/Arts performances
Assisting principal with discipline issues
Supporting the principal in providing parents with information regarding curriculum, instruction, general procedures, and special events related to school
Other
Performing additional duties as assigned by the Principal
Working knowledge of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) or other international curricula a must
Necessary qualifications needed
Previous experience with international schools a plus
