Production Engineer

Position
Volvo Powertrain in Köping manufactures and assembles the best transmissions in the world and our ambition is to continuously improve our methods and processes. As a production Engineer you have an important role in this work.

The production engineering team is responsible for the machining and assembly methods. We work reactive with problem solving and proactive with focused improvements of methods and processes. We are responsible for preparation and industrialization of new products and processes in machining and assembly. A lot of the work is organised in projects and we can have different roles in different projects: Expert, project manager or work package leader.

This position requires good communication with production, other support organisations and upstream in the product development process chain. In the product projects you report to PMO (Project Manager Operations) belonging to the product preparation department. Product development (design department) is another important interface.

As a production engineer you have a great opportunity for personal development. You can grow within engineering and become an expert that cooperate with universities and develop completely new methods and spreading knowledge global within Volvo. You can grow within project management or leadership.

Tasks would include:
* Preparation of new/modified products
* Industrialization of new equipment and tools
* Participate in product development together with design department.
* Technical support regarding prototype machining and design related issues.
* PFMEA(Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and input to DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)
* Implement process optimasations
* Manage improvment projects
* Participate in global development work

Travel
Limited travelling is required

Overall requirements:
* Master of Science or Business Administration
* Valid work-permit for applied country if not citizen
* Excellent spoken and written English (Additional languages are given merit)
* Maximum of two years previous work-experience prior to or after graduation
Additional requirements
Excellent spoken and written Swedish
