To Volvo Group Accounting & Company Control (ACC) we are now looking for an Internal Control advisor with a strong financial reporting and accounting risk interest.

The function is responsible for implementation, support and evaluation of adherence/effectiveness of requirements related to internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) in the Swedish units. Purpose is to ensure the quality and trustworthiness of the group 's financial information. This is done through the Volvo Internal Control Program and the result of this program is reported to AB Volvo management and Audit Committee. The function is also involved in an ongoing project to strengthen the internal control environment within the Volvo Group.

Job Description:

The Internal Control Advisor is responsible for ensuring the implementation, follow up and support of transactional internal controls within the Financial Reporting core processes. The IC Advisor supports regional and local management, through assessments and test of the existing internal controls, to secure a correct level of internal control to enable complete, accurate and valid Financial Reporting.

The Internal Control Advisor also supports regional and local management with awareness, interpretation and implementation of Volvo Group policies and directives related to internal control and secures the overall control environment.


Main activities and tasks for this position will be:

• Actively work to improve the Internal Control environment within the region
• Perform and drive evaluation of transaction level controls according to the yearly scope, ensuring controls are operating effectively, (e.g. perform assessment, testing and walkthroughs)
• Support management and Chief Accountants in designing activities that meets the requirements in VICS (best practice, tools etc.)
• Support management and Chief Accountants in securing coverage of internal control and VICS requirements in all relevant entities in the region (all relevant risks are mitigated, correct controls in place), based on the Internal Control scope
• Support management with actions and remediation regarding issues from internal or external audits related to Internal Control
• Support all Internal Control transactional level control activities in the region
• Maintain the Internal Control framework; plan and participate in Internal Control owned projects
• Lead and drive internal control awareness and trainings
• Take active part in different networks within the organization at regional and global levels to learn and implement best internal control practices

Qualifications:

• Business degree, preferably an accounting major or similar
• At least 5 years' experience within a financial reporting function or an audit firm
• Strong accounting knowledge is an advantage
• Experience from audit firm is an advantage
• Have an understanding of business processes and their connections to the financial statements
• Good at building network, internally and externally as well as being team oriented
• Problem solving and constructive mind-set
• Self-motivated and ability to take initiatives and drive activities independently
• Ability to lead and drive change
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in English and Swedish both verbal and written Disclaimer

The position will be based in Göteborg, Sweden, and will include travelling within the region.
