Purpose
To provide technical installation and configuration services to our customers throughout EMEA region, both remotely and on site, as part of time bound customer project deliveries.

Responsibilities:
Implement and configure G&D 3S proprietary and third party software components on site and remotely.
Resolve technical issues in co-ordination with head office staff under time pressure from customer and project.
Extensive travelling involved in role (up to approximately maximum 50% of time)
The job may require work on irregular times

Qualifications
A minimum of three years experience of technical support functions, preferably within in an international telecommunications or IT products & services environment.

Must:
A good knowledge of mobile communication, IT technologies and solutions.
Sun Solaris and/or Linux and Oracle SQL skills are essential.
Good telephone manner in English.
A technical education.
Fluent written and verbal English.
Able to write reports and be proficient in technical dealings with customers on the phone and in meetings.
Ability to work across cultures.
Able to work in a challenging environment on customer sites.
Analytical logical thinking

Advantageous:
Very advantageous is Veritas Volume Manager and Cluster skills and/or VMware
Advanced Oracle DB-Admin skills. Cluster and Backup solutions, Recovery Manager, Apache Tomcat, Networking (TCP/IP, routers, firewalls) , Windows NT/W2000, C7/SS7 signalling, SIM cards and SMS-C protocols ? highly advantageous.
Ability to troubleshoot in network environments.
University degree level.
