Hardware Responsible - Security Gateway

The section Connected Infotainment, at the Electrical unit is responsible for all work within Connected Car. The section is responsible for components who makes it possible to connect the Car to the customer. This area includes functions as In-Car apps, Mobile apps, Software download, Car play and Telematics. The group Connectivity Components, are responsible for the Electrical Component Units (ECU) in the car. The group consists of functions- and system owners, project leaders, SW-responsibles and quality assurers.

As Hardware Responsible - Security Gateway you will be responsible for the in-time delivery of the Security gateway. The gateway is called Vehicle Gateway Module (VGM). It is a new module with a primary task of separating the vehicle domain from the connected domain. It is also devised to handle related activities such as over the air software download, diagnostics management and IP communication. It will be an important cornerstone of the next generation security and communications architecture. As Hardware Responsible you will establish and develop relationships with representatives and stakeholders from different areas of the vehicle, you will also build and maintain a wide personal network within Volvo Car Group.

Main responsibilities

• Lead the hardware work and assure that the deliveries meet deadlines and according to the orders agreed
• Be the main contact to the supplier regarding hardware issues and take the lead in hardware discussions, both internal and external regarding project status, design issues, and changes
• Review different standards and gather requirements from different stakeholders within Volvo Car Group and together with supplier choose the best hardware for the future
• Be responsible for reviewing hardware delivery and make sure that the hardware will fulfil all requirements
• Handle all factory issues together with the supplier and make sure that the hardware is delivered in time in the projects

Required qualifications

• BSc in engineering or equivalent working experience
• Experience from hardware design and development within the Automotive or Telephony industry
• Working with issues as Coating, EMC, housing, quality assurance
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Driver's license, B-level
• Knowledge in AutoSAR is meritorious
• System engineering within Connectivity and Telematic is meritorious
• Good knowledge within Volvo systems as VQDC, Elektra, Team Center and KDP is an advantage
