Battery production applications is one the pillars of Munters future strategy due to the exploding market on Lithium-ion batteries for hybrid & full electric vehicles.
The Role
As a CAD Application Engineer (HVAC & MEP Design Engineer) you will be involved in all stages of the project, starting from helping the Sales team with concept design and providing visual materials, passing by the 3D coordination with other contractors involved in the project, to delivering the as-built drawings. You also provide engineering support to the CoE team, project engineers, field staff as well as to our customers. You will be working on and designing exciting new projects which require a fine attention to detail.
In some project, you will also be the link between design and site activities. You will be involved on the customer site with various tasks related to installations, DHU and HVAC system design. You will then coordinate with internal roles such as factory engineers, cost estimators and CAD-engineers; as well as external roles such as suppliers, sub-contractors, and consultants. The duration of Giga-factory Battery design solution can take up to many months where the requirements can change many times. Organization, consistency, strong mathematical approach and perseveration are skills that make you successful in achieving the targets.
In this exciting new role, you will join a highly motived and young team. During your first months in the role you will work alongside the CoE current members and receive intense training in Munters products and solutions, working alongside the design manager, senior designers and project engineers. You will be supported by a designated mentor making sure the right skills and correct approach is developed.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
3D modelling, primarily using Autodesk Revit:
Turnkey installation 3D design: Full 3D modelling of the clean and dry room including all HVAC and DH services such as AHUs (air handling units), DHUs (dehumidifiers), ductwork, pipework, electrical cable trays and more.
Design units or other components according to factory or subcontractors' drawings. Engineers will be able to use this for taking 'virtual tours' and plan where to fit mechanical services. These drawings are usually incorporated in the customer main building model
2D modelling:
Generate 2D detailed drawings to issue to the customers and site contractors.
Work with received 2D drawings such as dwg and dxf
Other:
Generate renders to support the Sales team with visual presentation
Undertake weekly meetings with other contractors in order to deliver a clash free solution to the end customer
Carry out engineering Dehumidification design solutions and provide initial technical & sales support to customers and Field Sales Engineers
Discuss technical solutions with the team, factories and design experts and suppliers to make sure the solution proposed is feasible and commercially convenient
Responsible of technical design issues in the project management team on site
Customer contact regarding Munters MEP-installations as well as advising the customer for MEP-design solutions
Regular contact with the sub-contractors involved in the project and communicate their needs
Follow up on sub-contractor work
Solving MEP-related issues and changes
Communicate with and support colleagues with regards to all projects, especially multi-quotes and tender submissions
Visiting customer & project sites with senior members when requested
Education /Knowledge/ Skills / Ability
Good knowledge and experience in Revit
Minimum 3 years experience in HVAC or Construction industry
Knowledge of BIM (Building information modelling) is advantageous
Eperience in Solidworks and Solidworks flow simulation is advantageous
Knowledge on PLC and BMS controls is advantageous
Mathematics and Physics problem solving attitude
Good communicational skills as well as good understanding of an organization
Can work well on your own, but also in a team
Good English skills are mandatory, both written & spoken
