AkzoNobel Decorative Coatings, the world's largest paint producer, with the Nordic brands Nordsjö, Sadolin, Cuprinol, Pinotex, Polyfilla and Hammerite, develop, produce, distribute and sell paint, varnish and filler products to professionals and consumers. We are a Nordic organization with headquarters in Sege/Malmö in Sweden.
In Sweden, we have approximately 300 employees at our office and production site in Sege/Malmö and another 200 in our Nordsjö Idé & Design stores and regional offices around the country.
In Denmark we have 40 employees in sales and our stores. In Norway, we have 50 employees, 15 at the Oslo office and another 35 in sales and in our Nordsjö Idé & Design stores.
Responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for a qualified Health & Safety professional with a successful history of influencing and sustaining successful HSE performance and working to deliver against ambitions, you are ready to join a business that will encourage your input, welcome your ideas and act on them. Look no further than this Health & Safety role with AkzoNobel. We are now looking for an experienced HSE Manager to develop and implement our HSE strategy as well as champion an HSE culture and drive continuous improvement within our Decorative Paints business. You will be responsible for for the Decorative Coatings Stores in the Nordic Countries.
The main tasks and responsibilities are:
• Maintain professional expertise in the relevant HSE systems, tools, legislation, etc.
• Build and maintain relationships with external authorities and other stakeholders (e.g. Swedish Work Environment Authority)
• Manage the AkzoNobel HSE&S data for the external business, so that all corporate deadlines for data are met
• Develop and implement a HSE training plan for all business functions within the MSU and provide HSE training for employees and managers
• Agree and participate in internal and external HSE auditing programmes
• Have an active role in Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) and work closely with Steering Committees and offer advice relating to HSE matters
Requirements
To enjoy and be successful in this position you need to have a drive for results and a passion for excellence and continuous improvement within HSE. Safety is at the core of all of your actions. You have excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly set the direction as well as involve and engage people in reaching our common goals. You have well developed coaching abilities and see and provide opportunities for development, inspiering others.
You hold a Master degree in relevant area and have at least a couple of years relevant experience in working with HSE. We expect you to have knowledge of relevant Swedish legislation, for example work environment and labour law. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Swedish/Danish or Norweigen is requiered as well as good skills in English.
Additional information
This is a permanent position on a full time basis, reporting to the Head of Stores Nordics and based in Malmö. The position requires 50 travel travel days per year.
