About the role
This is an opportunity to lead Formica's local People & Performance team based in Northern Europe and will involve extensive travel. You will have internal stakeholders in Finland, Sweden, Russia, Denmark and Norway including the Plant Manager in Finland and the Sales Director for Northern Europe. The main focus will initially be on the manufacturing plant in Finland and distribution center in Helsingborg.
The role will be responsible for all aspects of HR in the local region within both manufacturing and sales divisions. You will drive the implementation of HR initiatives including capability, talent management, succession planning, learning and development, growth and performance. You will be a champion for change and establishing how HR can assist with operational issues in our Plants.
Key elements of the role include
• providing a proactive and effective HR Business Partnering service to the manufacturing plant in Finland, as well as the sales and distribution divisions
• embedding the HR strategy locally, as well as supporting operational issues that arise at a local level
• capability, talent, succession, learning and development, growth and performance
• working with the leadership teams to improve productivity, performance and sales
• ensuring processes are in place to identify all critical roles and succession plans are developed
• working in partnership with the recruitment center to manage the recruitment and induction process ensuring the delivery of high performing individuals into the workplace
• developing an effective induction and on-boarding process for new employees
• ensuring change processes are managed to minimize operational disruption and maximize employee engagement
• management of the day to day employee relations issues, including disputes, IR/ER negotiations, disciplinary processes, terminations, restructuring activities and grievances
The role will be based in either Kolho, Finland or Helsingborg, Sweden with extensive travel to the Northern Europe region.
Qualifications/Profile
To be considered for this role YOU MUST SPEAK FLUENT FINNISH AND/OR SWEDISH and be prepared to travel extensively (weekly)

This role is highly proactive and will require excellent team working skills and ability to build effective and sustainable relationships quickly and provide commercial and operationally focused solutions.
The individual will be a strong HR generalist with a variety of experience and exposure across all areas of HR, with a particular focus on ER, Strategy development initiatives, L&D, Workforce Planning, Organizational Development within a large manufacturing environment. Knowledge in employment law is an advantage.
You will be able to demonstrate how you have developed best practice HR initiatives across previous businesses you have worked and how you have sustained this change, imbedding processes as they have gone.
You will have tenacity and resilience and be able to demonstrate both qualities effectively.
You will also have:
• HR generalist experience gained in Northern Europe
• Been a member of a broader leadership team.
• Exposure to factory or plant environments preferable.
• Demonstrate Transformation / Growth exposure
• Demonstrate your ability to flex your position from a "hands on/operational" level to Manager level quickly and effectively.
• Fluent in English & Finnish and ideally Swedish.
