About the role
As Head of Technology you will be responsible for everything from the customer experience of the website, to managing the tech aspects of the operation. In cooperation with the customer team, fulfillment team and the marketing team you will create and implement Hem.com's technology standards across the organization. You will lead the development of the website as well as making the strategic decisions. You will be required to independently and proactively plan, articulate and develop technology initiatives according to the company strategy. This includes improving the e-commerce platform setup (Shopify) as well as the back-end (Ruby on Rails). Your responsibilities will include:
• Understand, translate and execute the UI/UX requirements defined together with other company stakeholders such as the Marketing team, COO and CEO
• Proactively and continuously improve the full e-commerce setup (front-end, back-end and ERP setup) to automatize as much of the manual processes as possible
• Translate user experience requirements into appropriate designs
• Produce, test, and launch online experiences on the e-commerce platform
About you
We believe that you have been working with start ups before or consulting and have a deep knowledge of building high-end customer experiences on the web, preferably within retail. You are probably a fullstack developer and have knowledge of Ruby on Rails or you have a background as technical project manager with understanding for the bigger picture. You have a interest for the business and how to build it forward. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
As a person you are self-motivated, prestige-less and communicative. You get motivated by working in a startup environment, are willing to get your hands dirty, and can work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously. You are a team player with a sense of humor, that is always willing to lend a hand.
