Nasdaq Technology is now looking for a Head of Technical Writing. The Technical Writers team provides high-quality customer documentation for Trading, Clearing and CSD systems and services.

The position is in Stockholm where you will sit in the renovated former Ford assembly plant in Frihamnen, in our spacious and open plan factory-style campus, which houses 700 of Nasdaq's IT talent across many departments including engineering, architecture, development and testers.

About the Team, Role and Responsibilities

As Head of Technical Writing, you will manage a team of three Technical Writers. The team works closely with the software development, infrastructure, operations, product, and project management teams to write and edit customer documentation and other technical documentation for various technology projects and platforms.

You will be responsible for managing and developing the team members as well as assigning individual technical writers to specific projects or tasks. Alongside the management duties, you will also perform technical writing. In this role, you are expected to liaise with project managers, business analyst teams, development teams and test teams to ensure successful project deliveries. You will be responsible for methodologies, processes and tools related to technical writing.

Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership and direction to team members.
* Motivate, coach, develop, recruit, reward and retain employees while cultivating a culture of a high performing team.
* Take accountability for the performance and results of the team; plan and implement procedures and tools to maximize operating efficiency.
* Develop departmental plans to address resource and operational needs and challenges.
* Allocate resources and assign responsibilities for projects and assignments, checking status regularly.
* Ensure that the team identifies industry change and captures feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
* Lead the team in their thinking for process re-design and improvements to improve efficiency.
* Build and maintain effective long-term relationships with key stakeholders, decision makers, and influencers internally and externally.

Qualifications required:

* Education Required: Degree or equivalent experience in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, Information Design, or related fields
* Experience Required: 5-8 years in technical writing field (or equivalent)
* Ability to motivate, develop, recruit, retain and reward employees
* Management or leader experience
* Excellent technical writing skills
* Knowledge in XML editing
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal English.
