Position Title: Head of Mission Chauffeur
Location: Embassy of Canada, Stockholm, Sweden
Monthly Salary: approx. SEK 20,707 (before tax and employee social insurance contributions; salary is non-negotiable)
Closing Date: March 1, 2012 at 09h00
The Canadian Embassy in Stockholm has an opening for an indeterminate position starting April 2012 as the Head of Mission Chauffeur.
Open to: Individuals who are legally able to work and reside in Sweden
Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Head of Mission (HOM), provides transport services to authorized passengers including driving them to official meetings and functions; ensures proper maintenance of the official HOM vehicle; delivers and collects a variety of items and material; performs routine administrative errands; and provides backup for the Embassy Driver/Messenger and performs other duties. This position requires a strong client service orientation and an ability to work overtime on short notice.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Valid Swedish or international driving license.
• Valid driver's health check.
• Clear accident record for the last five years.
LANGUAGE:
• Ability to read, write and speak Swedish fluently.
• Ability to speak and read one of the official languages of Canada (English or French) at an intermediate level.
EXPERIENCE:
• At least three years of prior experience working as a professional driver.
KNOWLEDGE:
• Overall knowledge of car mechanics.
• Excellent knowledge of Stockholm streets and surrounding areas.
• Expert knowledge and understanding of traffic rules and regulations.
ABILITIES:
• Ability to read maps, judge distances, understand direction and plan routes.
• Must be able to lift and move items of 35 kg weight.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime.
PREFERENTIAL STANDING WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE CANDIDATES WHO ALSO MEET THE FOLLOWING ASSSET QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE:
• Thorough knowledge of Stockholm and locations of the governmental and international organizations (Ministries, other Embassies, UN offices etc.).
• Mechanical knowledge background.
• Defensive driving training.
LANGUAGE:
• Ability to speak and read both official languages of Canada (English and French) at an intermediate level.
EXPERIENCE:
• Prior experience working with foreigners in a professional environment.
ABILITIES:
• Resourcefulness in difficult situations.

Professional dependability, professional comportment, discretion, judgment, honesty, tact, initiative, adaptability, flexibility and effective performance under pressure. Capacity to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with colleagues, clients and supervisors.
