Videoplaza powers the video advertising businesses of some of the world's largest media companies, enabling them to be profitable as they invest in video across screens - so called new IP-delivered TV.

Videoplaza's sell-side video ad serving and management platform, Karbon, monetises video experiences across PCs, mobile devices, tablets, game consoles, IPTV, Smart TV and HBBTV. Thus helping publishers and broadcasters manage, sell, optimise yield and deliver video advertising across all these environments.

Videoplaza is venture capital backed, growing rapidly and have clients in more than 25 markets worldwide. Videoplaza's headquarters are in London/Stockholm and the business has 8 offices across Europe and Asia.

With an ever-increasing global footprint, Videoplaza are now looking for an experienced accounting professional who can help them scale and grow the existing finance function.

The role

The purpose of Videoplaza's Finance Team is to deliver solid and accurate financial data, insightful planning and analysis to enable optimal business resource allocation and provide strategic guidance for different internal teams. They support the business owners on commercial decision-making by understanding the risks and opportunities. The current team consists of four people based in Stockholm and one based in London.

As the Head of Financial Control, you will be responsible for all accounting and related activities across the different entities and help prepare the company for the added financial complexity that comes with an ever-expanding international business. You will thrive on finding compliant solutions and adapting to changing circumstances and be prepared to delve into details. Moreover, you need to be a true relationship builder to make sure you become the trusted partner for the various stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the work on establishing solid and compliant financial processes treatment for existing and new entities

• Be the sounding board for all compliance, risk and control matters across the group 

• Ensuring integrity of the Videoplaza financial information in accordance with local GAAPs

• Close the books each month and prepare statutory financial accounts as well supporting the preparation of management accounts

• Liaise with and manage external/local accountants, auditors, tax authorities etc

• Ownership of Billing, AR, Bad Debt, Purchases, AP, Payroll

• Ensure tax compliance and preparation of tax advance- & annual returns

• Liaise with external experts on Tax, V.A.T. and Accounting Policy matters where ?required and drive resolution on issues that arise

• Facilitate process improvements, including standardisation and leveraging ?automation and systems

• Establish appropriate balance between compliance and risk-based efficiency

• Maintain strong compliance and controls over time

• Supervise, mentor and develop direct reports

• Organise the team to ensure that all key tasks are always covered as well as ?scalability

Required qualities and experience

• Highly proactive, willing and able to identify relevant insights from financial information, drawing appropriate conclusions and working with the business functions towards resolution

• Great organisational and project management skills and ability to prioritise and work effectively with deadlines

• Ability and willingness to work at a strategic level as well as at a detailed functional accounting level

• Clear, concise and confident communicator with the ability to be understood by a variety of internal and external stakeholders

• BA/BS degree in a relevant subject (Finance/Accounting) with a record of academic success combined with a professional accounting or equivalent degree qualification

• 8+ years of finance experience likely to include: 5+ years' experience working with SEGAAP & IAS and 5+ years' experience of accounting, financial reporting, group consolidation, tax, V.A.T., financial statement preparation

• Knowledge of a variety of finance systems

• Excellent written and spoken English and Swedish

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills coupled with appropriate business ?acumen
