About us
This is a new function within Outbound Logistics and Port & yard operations and covers the full scope of finished vehicle logistics where the function is key enabler to deliver market adaptations of vehicles and make sure vehicles are ready for delivery on time to our customers. The function will be closely linked to Intercontinental flows as well as to EMEA regional road distribution. The team is based in Gothenburg Sweden and Gent Belgium. Although this position will be based in Gothenburg Sweden.
At Outbound Logistics, you are part of a global supply chain team that makes sure that the cars we build are delivered to our customers at required destinations at expected lead time. To make this happen, we secure that all outgoing transportation is established and executed, cost efficient and with exact precision to the entire Volvo Cars organization and the affiliates. EMEA Outbound Logistics Port & Yard operations
What you'll do
* Start up a new role and team with responsibility to lead and all port & yard related processes of finished vehicles.
* You work to define the most efficient port & yard processes from a global perspective in cooperation with our team colleagues in engineering, Global transformation implementation, intercontinental operations, and regional transport operations, supporting company transformation strategy.
* Maintain processes and standard operating procedures in line with the overall global strategy of Outbound Logistics
* Initiate, plan, prioritize and coordinate all activities performed within the function related to Outbound Logistics requirements, such as RFQ realated activities, introduction of new suppliers, new processes, new business models.
* Pipeline management, wholesale planning activities and support the stakeholder financial targets come natural to you.
* Drive supplier management.
* Deliver on KPIs.
* Manage and drive actions to improve performance continuously.
* Prepare and implement the new TMS/YMS as an expert in the area of responsibility.
* Coach people that makes the team develop to be fit for the future
We are looking for you who:
Are an experienced leader to set up our new team and function within plant yards & port operation.
Will define port & yards processes within plant yards & port operations.
Has a clear and analytical mindset to be able to handle and prioritize all incoming data.
Has knowledge of Outbound Logistics Operations and is skilled to define new efficient processes supporting our new business model.
Enjoy and care for great customer relations. within plant yards & port operations, to define port & yards processes and to lead supplier management.
Have a pro-active approach, and you are willing to walk the extra mile to reach targets and customer expectations.
We believe you have:
* Leadership skills with ability to build a new team with right competence and empowerment.
* Broad experience within the Volvo supply chain
* Deep level understanding of logistics/transport/port and yard processes and requirements
* Operational and flow driven mind set
* University degree or at least 5 years equivalent experience
Your expertise and engagement are key to lead the transformation of our company as our processes are setting a new standard in the industry. You are aiming for lean and flow-oriented solutions resulting in a premium delivery precision and benchmark lead times.
