You will be responsible for customer acquisition and retention in the Kenyan community in Europe. Today we offer cash pickup and mobile transfers to mPesa accounts. We are looking to add Equitel mobile wallets and bank transfers in the very near-term future.
You will work towards the Kenyan community in the U.K. and Europe, where your responsibility will be to drive the digital transformation and spread the use of TransferGalaxy's superior service within the community. We are confident that our digital product is superior to other remittance providers', but in order for customers to change from traditional remittance providers to ours, it is important that the TransferGalaxy brand instils trust and safety. Your responsibility will be to build trust within the local community by bridging the gap between offline and online.
You will set the strategy together with the management on how to best approach the community. Your responsibilities include:
• Create brand-awareness and adapt marketing mix to local circumstances together with our marketing team
• You will be responsible for offline marketing targeting the local community, attending local events, meetings and other get-togethers
• You will be responsible for establishing contact with key influencers within the local community
• You will be responsible for establishing partnerships within the community
• You will together with our marketing team create online campaigns targeting the local community and campaigns targeting recipients in Ghana
• You will listen to customers and come with suggestions on how TransferGalaxy can adapt its product offering to better meet customers' demands
This is a high-impact role which involves a combination of commercial and people management skills. The ideal candidate has:
• A large social network within the Kenyan community in Europe
• An entrepreneurial mindset with strong orientation towards results
• The ability to work independently on strategic and operative day-to-day task
• Willing to get your hands dirty - we are (still) a small but growing team and need people with a bias towards action at every level
• A positive attitude and an eagerness to be part of the digital disruption
• High moral standards and wants to do good for the world
• Highly responsible and customer oriented
• Prior experience from the remittance industry (plus but not required)
• Fluent in English and Swahili
• Driving license
The role will be based in U.K. or in Sweden, but will involve travelling all over Europe.
