You'll hear us talk more and more about this using the term "Software on top" - which entails both the direction to develop a one-track software platform and deploy it off-cycle.
Software Integration, Testing and Release
To support both our near-term challenges and our long-term product vision, our ability to integrate, test and release software is paramount. We believe that integration on a complete software level should not be part of any single solution and instead should have the clear responsibility and mandate to drive activities across all solutions and the entire CI chain to ensure that we get a solid flow from domain to complete vehicle level.

The role is responsible for leading the Complete Software Integration and Release (CSIR) organization reporting to the Head of Software Engineering. This organization has approx. 300 team members distributed over 4 main areas:
• Software Factory
Responsible for building and maintaining the CI infrastructure and tooling incl. test automation.
• Software Integration
Responsible to lead the planning, and execution of the integration activities from domain to complete.
• Verification & Test
Responsible for implementing, managing the environments, and executing automated and manual extended testing in HIL, SIL, Complete vehicle rigs and cars.
• Software Release
Responsible for managing the process to validate and release software with high quality and customer satisfaction.
Who you are
Being the key enabler for our Software Defined Strategy this leader runs the "Factory" of our software operations. The scope is from software integration to verification and owning the release process to our various channels out (factory, workshop and OTA). The team also has a leading role in ensuring that domains are effectively doing integration and contribute to the overall integration flow. Current leader is acting until recruitment is done.
What you'll bring
• Demonstrated leadership in software development & process, methods, and tools management
• Deep understanding of CI / CD and agile processes incl DevOPS
• Deep understanding of Automotive development (managing the industrial process requirements in a Agile SW context)
• Business understanding - from investments to effective and efficient operations
• Skills to lead from blue collar test rig operaters to academic CI Architects
Do you fit the profile?
The head of the Continuous Software Integration & Release team must be an experienced technology leader with proven track-record. We think you have a Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent and experience in:
• Continuous Integration & Deployment
• Software Factory Deployments
• Large-scale software development programs with a background of software architecture design and hands- on programming.
• Large-scale electronic hardware development programs, with a background of electronics hardware design.
• History of working with consumer facing products tied to a complex industrial system with high degrees of reliability on the software integration process (e.g., automotive, mobile, consumer electronics) with embedded software.
