Founded in 1980, the Right Livelihood Award - widely known as the "Alternative Nobel Prize" - is presented annually in the Swedish Parliament to four outstanding individuals or organisations in the fields of human rights, the environment and social justice. The Right Livelihood Award Foundation also works actively to support and protect its Laureates. Tasks The position is a full-time temporary substitute position ("vikariat") during the parental leave of one of our employees, preferably starting 1 June 2016 and for a period of 10-12 months. The Head of Administration: - works closely with the Executive Director, and the whole team, on the planning of our work; - develops and oversees internal routines and processes for both our offices (Stockholm and Geneva); - oversees and manages IT-related systems (such as the contact management database, shared calendars, video conferencing software, email accounts and mailing lists), coordinates contact with IT support, and implements IT-related routines within the team; - ensures quality control for the accounting and financial planning, being the direct link between the financial team and other staff members involved in the bookkeeping process; - coordinates the planning of the annual Award ceremony, including management of the guest list and practical coordination with partners for the event.

Experience & skills - At least 3 years experience of administrative work. - Experience with project management and larger events. - Technically skilled, both as user and administrator, with IT systems, such as database software, mailing list and email account administration, and other standard office software, ideally in a Mac environment. - Experience with accounting and financial control is an advantage - A broad understanding of and an interest in the work of the Right Livelihood Award Laureates. - Excellent command of Swedish and English. Fluency in other languages, particularly German, is an advantage. - As a person you are structured, well-organised, result-oriented and have an eye for details. You also have the ability of multi-tasking and enjoy assisting your colleagues. The position is based in Stockholm with occasional travel to the Foundation's office in Geneva.
