Chassis Systems and Control is part of the Hardware unit within Product and Quality at Volvo Car Group. The steering team's mission is to develop steering systems and functions which supports this vision creating and shaping the technology required for future platforms including autonomous drive.

Hardware Steering System Engineer

The steering team are seeking a System Engineer to develop our future EPAS and Column solutions. A background in Hardware and Mechatronic design is desirable with experience in delivering complex system solutions that always put the customer first. It should be no secret that steering are playing a significant role in autonomous drive, are you ready to join this exciting transition?

Main responsibilities
* Development of future Steering System solutions for EPAS and Column.
* Ensure global requirements are understood and communicated to the steering team.
* Define future requirements and specifications for the steering system.
* Drive our Virtual Development together with steering engineers.
* Aid in the development of advanced engineering studies such as steer by wire.
* Manage the integration of the Hardware and Controls functions.
* Lead system solutions by liaising with both System Safety, SW System Engineer and Function Owners.
* Co-operate with suppliers to complete development tasks including sourcing process.
* Support the tuning of steering systems.
* Support test procedures in the Lab and at vehicle proving ground.
* Support the team's cross functional deliveries within agreed time/cost/technique frames through-out all phases of development and vehicle projects.'Provide input to the teams verification needs.

Required qualifications
* MSc or BSc in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
* Previous experience of system engineering.
* Experience in Vehicle Dynamics with focus on NVH, Ride and Handling.
* Experience of setting engineering targets at vehicle, system and component level.
* Previous experience in steering of merit.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken).
* Driver's license B or equivalent.

Meritorious
* Previous experience in steering of merit.
* Fluent in Swedish
