Hardware Electronics Engineer Steering

Chassis Systems and Control is part of the Hardware unit within Product and Quality at Volvo Car Group. We are passionate in developing technology that enables Volvo Car Group to fulfil its aggressive targets to be the leader in the areas of Vehicle Dynamics and Active Safety. The steering team's mission is to develop steering systems and functions which supports this vision creating and shaping the technology required for future platforms including autonomous drive.

The steering team are seeking an innovative Hardware Electronics Engineer capable to create and manage future designs covering for example: ECU's; PCB's layout; motor installations and electrical distribution. It is important that you are passionate in developing automotive electronic hardware components in an international environment together with global suppliers. You are responsible not only to secure correct specifications towards suppliers and also review implementation and testing but to significantly boost innovation in existing and future projects.

Main responsibilities
* Development and creation of future Hardware Electronics for the steering groups Electrical Power Assisted Steering & Steering Column System solutions.
* Responsible to implement and manage Design Pre-requisites.
* Define electrical interface characteristics internally and externally for steering components.
* Design input into PCB layout including EMC optimization.
* Deliver Robust Engineering utilising disciplines such as FMEAs, boundary diagrams, P-Diagrams, DVP's to drive design and development.
* Support the team's cross functional deliveries within agreed time/cost/technique frames through-out all phases of development and vehicle projects.
* Contribute in the sourcing process.

Required qualifications
* MSc or BSc in Electrical & Electronic engineering or Mechatronics.
* Experience in development of Electrical Hardware components.
* Previous experience within Chassis or Steering is of merit.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Fluent in Swedish (preferable)
* Driver's license B or equivalent.
