Axis is now looking for a Hands on Concept Engineer to join our Product Concepts & New Ideas team.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Diverse viewpoints and perspectives are vital to successful new innovative products. As Concept Engineer you will be an important contributor in a cross functional team, creating new concept and ideas for Axis future video products.
You will play an active and important role from the very beginning. Based on knowledge and insights of the surveillance market and customer needs and values you will generate and communicate new ideas within our IP-video business. Furthermore you will develop the ideas to understand the system implications and finally do the complete design of prototypes and demonstrators.
You will also monitor and evaluate new technologies in order to understand how this can benefit future Axis IP-video products in the best way
The work will be carried out in close cooperation with other departments within Axis R&D organization, Product Management and Business Development.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe that you are an outgoing and flexible person with a creative mindset and a general technical curiosity. You have a drive to improve technical solutions and are not afraid to take a more abstract approach to technical challenges. Furthermore you have the ability to describe and visualize ideas and concepts in early stages, through e.g. images, sketches or animations as well as design and bring up working prototypes.
You also have:
• Master of Science (e.g. Electrical, Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Mechanical Eng.)
• General practical skills within electronics and mechanics
• A general understanding of what drives business.
It is also meriting if you have previous experience from early phase product development.
THE TEAM – PRODUCT CONCEPTS & NEW IDEAS
Product Concepts & New Ideas is an important part of Axis long term core technology development.
Product Concepts & New Ideas mission is to develop within the existing area of new video products. We do this through creation and exploitation of new ideas for future products and features beyond the scope of the existing product roadmap. We also strive to make ideas tangible and concrete through rapid prototyping demonstrating the opportunities for the future.
