Studio Director, RISE Division ICT Interactive Stockholm

RISE Interactive is a public research institute with studios across Sweden with a solid track-record in applied research within the field of interaction design and user experiences, from games and sound design to 3D-visualizations and open innovation. We lead transformative processes, facilitate innovation, creating digital tools and collaborative practices. Our partners range from public to private sector: academia, public agencies and companies within culture, media and civil society, in national and international collaborations. We work exploratory with iterative prototyping and transdisciplinary design methods.

As the next step in our exciting development, we need a Studio Director to lead us and keep us energized and focused. We want you to lead our team out of our comfort zones while at the same time make sure we deliver world class innovations and research results to our partners.

As Studio Director, you will work in design-focused research projects, together with designers, researchers and coders, as well as students from different parts of the world doing their thesis with us. The position is placed in Stockholm, on an institute management level, with budget and staff responsibility, project management as well as business development and funding. You will be part of the institute management group at RISE Interactive.

Must-haves: leadership experience, research expertise, organizational skills the ability to lead in a challenging, fast-paced and knowledge intensive environment. Proficiency in Swedish and English, both written and oral.

Merits: Expertise within relevant research areas and/or the Swedish innovation eco-system, experience from having worked actively with research funding, hands-on experience from sales- and marketing. Experience with leading collaborative research and/or design projects. PhD or equivalent.
