The Energy Storage System (ESS) department within Electromobility is responsible for battery development for the Volvo Group. Our portfolio of batteries is used in many different applications, from trucks to excavators.
The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System. At our section, we are accountable for our products from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.
We are now recruiting a Group Manager for the Battery Service Box and Venting System!
As a Group manager you will lead the development work for Service box assembly and battery pack ventilation. For the service box, the responsibility is to enclose electrical and electronics components protecting it from water, dust, debris, and other elements. Pack venting secure protection from contaminants and pressure equalization during normal operating conditions. If a thermal runaway occur the venting system secure pressure relief.
You will support your team from concept studies and development and take designs into production and manage maintenance. You are a people person that enjoys networking, create a diverse team and to make people thrive. In ambiguous or conflicting conditions, you are a natural leader resolving and securing progress. Working with suppliers you will coach your engineers and step in and together resolve the issue when needed.

You like to develop new ways to work, and to develop cooperation with other functions within Volvo Group and externally.
You will report to the Section Director and be part of the Pack Design and Thermal global management team, as well as be a part of an agile and approachable organization with skilled and passionate people. We see that you have a M.Sc. in engineering or equivalent experience.
We believe you have a solid experience in mechanical design engineering preferably with strong Volvo Group process knowledge.
Experience leading people as a Group manager or team leader is a strong merit. Since the area is in an early phase, it is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment.
Experience working in an international environment.
Mechanical design in battery design or high voltage electrical environment is highly meritorious.
Battery system understanding and specifically for venting system and electrical and electronic packaging is meritorious.
You will be part of a cross-functional and international environment, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication. Personal fit will be of great importance in this recruitment, as we are actively working to build a diverse team in terms of experience, gender and backgrounds.
