This is us, your new colleagues at Electromobility
The Energy Storage System (ESS) department within Electromobility is responsible for battery development for the Volvo Group. Our portfolio of batteries is used in many different applications, from installations in highway trucks to articulated haulers operating in mines.
We are now recruiting a Group Manager for ESS Geometrical Architect team!
As a Group Manager within Electromobility you lead both people and technology. The group is responsible for battery pack geometry throughout the lifecycle of our product, from concept development to maintenance. The group work cross-functionally and in close collaboration with different stakeholders to create efficient packaging solutions. In the role as a group manager, you will support the geometrical architect engineers balancing requirements and make necessary tradeoffs with the Volvo Group perspective in mind.
The group is also process owners of CAD/PLM/PDM ways of working within ESS. ESS is a fast-changing and growing organization, and the groups responsibility are to create, align and implement processes for CAD/PLM/PDM for the complete ESS department. Efficient communication skills in combination with interpersonal skills are of essence to be successful in this role. You are comfortable doing daily prioritization to keep the flow and optimize deliveries. You are a people person that enjoys networking, creating a diverse team and making people thrive.

You will report to the Section Director and be part of the Pack Design and Thermal global management team. The team is based at CampX, Lundby, an innovative and collaborative environment full of engaged colleagues.

We see that you have a M.Sc. in engineering or equivalent experience
We believe you have a solid experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably with strong Volvo Group process knowledge.
Experience leading people as a Group manager, team leader, product owner or project manager is a strong merit. Since the area is in an early phase, it is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment.
Mechanical design in battery design or high voltage electrical environment is highly meritorious.
Method and process development in a global company is meritorious.
Battery pack and vehicle architecture knowledge are meritorious.

You will be part of a cross-functional and international environment, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication.
