www.borealisgroup.com We are looking for a candidate to join our Corporate Engineering team of Automation Experts. You will be supporting and working in Borealis large investments projects around the globe, as well as contributing to enhancement in the automation field. You have experience from project work in the process industry and expertise from working with engineering and development of instrumentation, control systems, safety systems and programming. In addition you will be expected to bring forward and deliver new initiatives linking Borealis needs to the current industry trend, all as part of a highly skilled and motivated team.
Role Purpose
• Steer and Lead studies and investment projects for all Borealis locations and JV within the automation discipline.
• Contribute to highest process safety standards in all implementations.
• Implement and develop Borealis internal specifications, requirements and best-practices ensuring compliance with international norms and standards.
• Be a driver in utilizing the full potential of existing process control platforms in our production facilities to improve profitability and reliability.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and incident investigations activities related to automation hardware and software as well as safety systems.
• Contribute to strategic planning on plant and group level within automation.
Contribution
• Represent Borealis interests versus vendors, suppliers and contractors as representative in studies and projects.
• Implement and develop Borealis internal specifications, requirements and best-practices.
• Promotes innovative thinking, to strive for "fit for purpose", simple solutions.
• Give training, advice and steering to plant and contractor engineers.
Knowledge, skills and experience
• Graduate Engineer in Chemical Engineering, Automation or Process Control subjects.
• Training in BPCS/DCS, ESD and PLC systems and process control in particularly Emerson, ABB, Honeywell and SIEMENS S7
• TUV Functional Safety Management certification
• Training on modelling and simulations tools including Matlab
• Minimum 10 years of experience from work exposed to automation field and continuous control.
• Minimum 4 years of experience from working in petrochemical / base chemical industry.
• Minimum 4 years of experience from project work.
• SAP Engineering and Maintenance module
• Engineering skills in Aspentech DMC and RTO
• ISA S88 Batch Specialist
• Full familiarity with ISO9002 and ISO14000
• Engineering skills in instrumentation
• Calculation of SIL
• Validation of SIL
• Fluent English in writing and speaking.
Other information
• Very high willingness to travel frequently, and also ability to accept long term assignments on global basis, is a requirement for this position.
• You will be part of a distributed team of automation experts in the Technical Solutions department of PTS.
