Join us as Group Design Leader at Mechanical and Electrical Design group within the section Traction Battery System. We are dedicated to electrify our brand in a broad effort with Plug-In Hybrids (PHEVs) and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). At the engineering department of Propulsion Energy Systems, we are responsible for design and delivery of the technical solution of Traction Battery systems for electrified vehicles. We cover the complete product development of mechanical, electrical and software. We are the core competence center in Northern Europe in regards to Lithium Ion technology and automotive battery systems.
The department, Mechanical and Electrical Design, is responsible for designing Hardware components for the Traction Battery System. You will be part of an engineering team that develop engineering solutions fulfilling attribute requirements and manufacturing process demands within decided cost and time frames. The work includes contacts with other engineering departments, CAE teams and manufacturing engineering within our company as well as with external suppliers.
Main responsibilities:
You will lead a cross functional team in engineering projects for electrical HW and ensure delivery with regards to time, technology and cost requirements of the task area within a vehicle program.
* Ensure that the technical documentation (TCE, KDP) is available at the right level and at the right time
* Contact with CAE, other R&D members, suppliers and manufacturing to agree of required action
* Follow up prototype car builds and manufacturing of prototypes
* Perform design reviews
* Ensure that verification activities are planned and performed according to the overall time plan
* Manage supplier contacts with regards to planning and monitoring
Desired qualifications:
* Technical education at university level or equivalent experience
* Experience from task/design leader within development of electrical HW for automotive industry.
* Knowledge in Electrical Hardware design; HV/LV components, dimensioning of connectors and cables regarding insulation and current, EMC and shielding.
* Experience in balancing and optimizing electrical HW design against electrical requirements.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken).
