Join Our Team at Scania, Battery Production!

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Are you ready to shape the future of sustainable transportation? Scania, a world-renowned leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Global Engineering Group Manager within our Battery Production division.

Why Scania?
At Scania, we're dedicated to driving the transition towards sustainable transport solutions. Joining our team means being at the forefront of innovation, working with cutting-edge technology, and collaborating with passionate professionals from around the world. You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.

Organisation & Role Overview
We operate both Global and Local engineering organizations, with the global aspect focusing on earlier phases of Product Development (PD) projects. Global engineering teams collaborate closely with local counterparts to translate decided or proposed product changes into process impacts, involving several local stakeholders across different production sites.

As the Global Engineering Group Manager, you will lead our efforts in battery production alongside other parts of Scania and the Traton Group. You will oversee a team of talented process and PD (Product Development) engineers, with primary goals including striving towards zero deviation introductions, implementing Design for Assembly (DFA), and effectively managing the crucial interface and collaboration between production and R&D.

Recruiting Manager Peter Franzén:
"I believe in clarity in managerial roles and expectations, providing support and experience when needed. It's crucial for us as leaders to be present, especially during intensive phases where we support and guide our teams. I expect analytical thinking and consideration of various perspectives before making decisions, along with the ability to adapt if proven wrong. This requires confidence, humility, and steadfastness.
It's essential for all of us to grasp the big picture and work towards the same general direction, even if we choose different paths. My aim is to cultivate a work environment that blends innovation, warmth, customer focus, experience, humility, and humor, with a strong sense of team spirit to foster global engineering culture and successful product introductions."

Responsibilities and development opportunities in this role
• Guide and mentor a team of global process engineers to achieve excellence in an increasingly global battery production network, with our first plant in Sweden as the primary platform.
• Support the engineering team to deliver value in the forms of an increasingly more refined Master Production Process / Assembly Sequence, product knowledge and change management
• Develop our organization and support initiatives to ensure zero deviation introductions and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
• Champion DFA principles to integrate production processes and streamlined assembly procedures with product design.
• Act as a pivotal link between production facilities and R&D teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Coach your team to develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and maximize resource utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and implement best practices.
• Understand and advocate for the needs of our customers, both external and internal.

Preferred Experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in battery production or related industries, preferably with several years of relevant leadership experience.
• Strong background in process engineering, with a deep understanding of Product Development and DFA principles.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams across different cultures and geographies.
• Strategic mindset with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Proficiency in Product Introduction management tools and techniques, such as P-FMEA and ergonomic assessments.
• Fluency in Swedish and English; additional languages are a plus.
