On behalf of SKF, we are now looking for a Global Category Manager - Indirect Materials and Services within Maintenance, Repairs and Operations.

Assignment:
Within the implementation of the new high performing Purchasing Organization at SKF, we are looking for a qualified global category manager to run strategic sourcing projects for MRO Standard spare parts and hand tools.

The position globally manages product & service categories within Maintenance Repairs and Operations (MRO) and reports directly to the Global strategic purchasing manager MRO. You drive strategic sourcing projects with cross functional teams. You develop & communicate & implement a category strategy with the Business units. Furthermore you will coordinate all purchasing activities in your category network and drive supplier improvement thru fact-based analysis (financial, quality, manufacturing, etc.).

Key responsibilities:

• Develop strong category strategies incl. category target setting - based on a deep understanding of SKF Product Lines needs and insights into the supply market characteristics
• Analyze category spend data to find opportunities for cost reduction, e.g. supplier consolidation, specification rationalization, variant reduction, low cost country sourcing etc.
• Develop the annual cost reduction, innovation & improvement plan
• Organize and project lead strategic sourcing projects
• Manage strategic sourcing projects applying SKF strategic sourcing methodology
• Participate in/lead fact based negotiations
• Drive supplier onboarding and the supplier switch process. Work in close collaboration with Product Lines to secure local acceptance of new contracts
• Measure and manage supplier performance in all QCDIM (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Innovation, Management) aspects
• Manage Supplier Relationships for selected preferred suppliers
• Manage internal stakeholder relationships
• Manage demand (indirect material) - Analyze internal consumption patterns and proactively develop new consumption policies.

Requirements:

• University degree within relevant field of knowledge
• Solid knowledge of total cost and strategic sourcing
• Knowledge of purchasing processes
• Project management experience
• Willingness and the ability to travel frequently.

Personal Requirements:
To be suitable for this position we believe that you are result oriented with a strong business focus and stakeholder involvement. You have the ability to put strategy into action and have strong decision making skills. Experience of communicating in different levels of a global organization is a requirement, as well as good negotiation skills. You are also analytical and structured in your way of working.  

Additional information
The position holder will be part of the MRO team and reports to Global Strategic Purchasing Manager MRO. Preferably the function holder will be located at one of SKF's European sites.
