The area of Primary Substation within E.ON is constantly developing and growing and the Global Supply Chain function is now looking for a new colleagues to strengthen and take lead in one of the most interesting and challenging categories. As a global category Lead you will be responsible for the company-wide category management for the category Primary Substations which includes but is not limited to:




Steering all strategic and tactical sourcing activities for global categories including functionally leading Global Category Managers across multiple hubs/regions in the different E.ON business areas
Definition of E.ON's sourcing strategy for global categories regarding value creation & saving potentials, standardization of specifications, new sourcing channels, supplier panel management, supplier development and innovation
Collaboration with technical experts and further relevant stakeholders to ensure successful development and implementation of the category strategy and approach for [insert category]
Ensure joint target setting / decision making and integration of the business to the key Supply Chain working processes (e.g. Category Strategy Definition, Tender Board Participation, Business Dialogues, Supplier Performance Reviews)
Advise and recommend on "make vs. buy" strategy to monitor appropriate outsourcing and insourcing
Supplier management, negotiations for key contracts and claim management / Lead main negotiations with key suppliers
Steering Global Category Managers located in the regional teams in correct and effective implementation of the category strategy and the tools developed therefore (e.g. global contracts)
Track and ensure achievement of forecasted value and savings targets including productivity plans with suppliers
Detect, report and analyze market opportunities and their impact on the business up to actively developing new business opportunities through leveraging upstream supplier value propositions and funneling these to the right business stakeholders on the relevant levels
Promote and drive cross-functional and cross-border cooperation
Act as trainer and coach for the functional reports to continuous development category know-how and functional skills



Qualification: Relevant academic degree (Master or equivalent) or similar education
Experience:



Long-term experience in operational and strategic procurement of global categories
Experience in defining and implementing global category strategies
Experience in applying efficient procurement processes, structures and analytical tools
Ideally experience in functionally leading cross-site and international category teams
Experience in managing complex stakeholder relations at the same and higher hierarchical level
Experience in management of regional and global supplier relations
Experience in co-designing and implementing change processes
Experience in an intercultural working environment



Capabilities:

Profound knowledge (suppliers, markets, trends) in the respective category
Technical understanding to translate requirements into procurement specifications

Strong Team Player
Comfortable with conflict management
Sound knowledge of MS Office programmes and SAP
Knowledge in Procurement e-tools: SRM, eSourcing and eAuction
Expertise in using common methods and tools for cost analysis
Excellent English proficiency is a must, knowledge of a further European language is of advantage
Readiness to travel both nationally and internationally
